Throughout the Christmas season GHC was a lively place. Childrens Christmas presentation, “Christmas Miracle” Drama, choir practices, Christmas caroling, dinners, Gift baskets and many other activities.

There are always active kids, chasing parents, deep discussions and lively teens that can be seen every day of the week.

Ladies of Grace February Meeting

“Love is in the air…”, and it was, for the February meeting. Ladies of Grace hosted a Valentine’s Banquet for the Church. Olivia Harper did a brilliant job of planning and organizing the event. We rented the Whetstone Gym and Olivia decorated with fun red and pink colors. There were hearts, tulle, lights and even candles to set the mood. The menu was Lasagna, salad, bread, a beautiful jello salad and then to top it off a choice of cheese cake or Red Velvet cake for dessert. The speaker for the night was the Baker’s telling about their courtship/romance which of course brought many laughs. After dinner and a two couple’s games (which were won by Adam and Bethany Jones and Dan and Gwen Fry) the floor was cleared and the real games began. We played volleyball and basketball until the clock struck midnight and our chariots turned back into pumpkins. A BIG THANK YOU to Amy Closser for watching all the children so Mommy’s and Daddy’s could have a special evening together.

The Father is specially related to God’s work in creation; the Son by incarnation is specially related to God’s work in redemption; and the Holy Spirit by His indwelling is specially related to God’s work in sanctification.

Ladies of Grace January Meeting

It was a fun relaxing time out to eat again with our group of wonderful Ladies. We went to IHOP for breakfast and enjoyed pancakes, stuffed french toast, omelets and of course COFFEE!!! The manager of the resturant was very kind and gave us 20% off of our entire bill. While the restaurant was busy and somewhat noisy on a Saturday morning, it was still a fun time to be together and share with each other. We have one new little lady in our group, who, though she does not meet the age requirement, is more then welcome. Beautiful little Jennalyn! Anytime her mommy want to bring her there are lots of willing arms to help hold her.

The project of food baskets and Gifts for two families in our church went better then expected. For our meeting we had guest speaker – Melanie Clemons talk to us about “Creative Gift Wrapping”. It was such a fun and informative time. We wrapped the gifts for the 6 children, and decorated the baskets for the food. The Ladies had brought in all the food items needed to make a Christmas dinner, as well as many other items. Donations of food had also come in from Marsh’s Grocery Store. Pizza Hut had donated gift certificates for free pizzas, McDonald’s had given cupons for free hamburgers and fries, and we were even given two free family passes including meals and tokens to Chuck E. Cheese’s resturant. Shell Gas Station had also donated a $25 gas card. We had a wonderful time working together on this project. The gifts and baskets will be delivered during the week of Christmas.

Ladies of Grace November Meeting

Ladies of Grace hosted a double baby shower for Bethany and Liz. The new little ones are due in December and January. Olivia did a fabulous job with the decorations. Everything was blue and pink with baby blocks as the theme. She used empty baby food jars with tee light candles down the center of each table, along with baby q-tips and other little baby items. So cute and creative! Marybeth organized the menu with lots of yummy finger foods, and Kelly did a great job with several fun games. Both expectant moms were given a nice variety of gifts for the coming little ones.

This month we met for a game night. We all brought our favorite fall desert along with the recipe to share. There was too much to eat, none of it was very healthy, but it all was oh so delectable. We played some fun games in which we learned some interesting tid-bits about each other. We also talked about some ideas for the Christmas season to help some families who attend our church. It was a fun and “filling” night!

Ladies of Grace met at Olive Garden for a relaxing evening of delicious food and enjoyable fellowship. It was a fun time of sharing with each other and getting to know each other better.
